Wow guys! For some reason, it just took me about eight tries and a computer reboot before wordpress would let me create a new post. Not cool. So hopefully whatever is going on will sort itself out and I won’t have any trouble in the future.
Anyway, I thought I’d post a photo of Muffins (who is really my family’s cat Scout) and some photos of the house that has always served as my mental layout for Tony’s/Clint’s house. This may be of no interest at all, in which case my apologies, but I figured I’d share anyway.^^
My family adopted Scout this past November. She’d been coming around for 3 years now, and once I started writing Muffins into the story, Scout became my mental picture for him. At the time, we thought Scout was a boy, but it really doesn’t matter. She’s still what Muffins looks like. Unfortunately in this photo, you can’t see her “bowtie” (she has a little white splotch under her chin, right where a bowtie would be), but here “he” is: Muffins.
Aaaaand here are some shots of the house! It’s my grandparent’s house in Florida. Don’t ask me why, but that’s what popped into my head when I began writing Tony/Clint fanfiction. Obviously their house would be much bigger than my grandparents’, but this will give you a basic idea of the layout I have in mind.
This is a shot of the couch where Tony falls asleep with his head in Tasha’s lap.
A shot of the bedroom that Tony covered with roses.
The other angle of the “rose” bedroom, this time seen from the doorway.
Another shot of the couch Tony slept on with Tasha. This setup (the couch and loveseat) is also the same setup I had in mind for the couch/chair at Clint’s apartment for “Porn”, when Clint masturbated in front of Tony. So Clint would be on the couch where Tony slept with his head in Tasha’s lap, and Tony would be on that loveseat watching.
The kitchen. Along that back wall where the dishwasher is is where Tony put the vase that Muffins knocks over. All that wide empty floorspace is where Tony and Clint waltz in that same story. (‘The Compliment Unicorn’)
That’s the counter that Clint puts Tony up on in ‘Someplace In Between’ when they’re first making out, though he puts him on the other side of it. There’s a shot of the other side somewhere in here.
There we go. This is the side of the counter that Clint sits Tony on in ‘Someplace in Between’, when Tony is wearing his suit, and they get kinda raunchy on it.
The front door that Clint slams Tony up against in chapter 5 of ‘Stark With a Drink’. That bit of white wall you can see to the left of it is the wall that, moments later, Clint shoves Tony up against after he does the shrug-nod that drives Clint crazy. Clint likes slamming Tony into things, has anyone noticed?^^;;
That door all the way to the left is the bathroom Bruce is in in “Shooting Bruce.” Tony and Clint are just to the right of where the picture cuts off, to the right of that windowed doorway leading to the patio.
The hallway leading to Tony’s bedroom that they spend the night in after the Abbington Gala in ‘Stark With a Drink”. You can see all the doors on the right of the hallway that Clint has so much difficulty with.
The bathroom where Clint gives Tony his bubblebath in “Adventures in Baking”.
A shot of the front door. You can see the couches from here, the sitting area where Tasha sat with Tony’s head in her lap. Clint had a straight shot from the door to the sitting area, so his first glimpse when he came in was Tasha and Tony.
Kitchen area. You can see the stove where Tony does all his cooking.
THIS is so you can all see how, in ‘Shut Down’, Clint could see Coulson in the kitchen but Coulson couldn’t see him. That is a shot from the back entry way. That all the way to the left is the kitchen counter (where the chairs are). If you turn to your right, there is a bit of hallway that leads to the bedroom. So unless Clint went in to say hello to Coulson, Coulson would never know he was there.
Another shot to explain the back door entrance that leads to the kitchen/bedroom in “Shut Down”. The back door is on the right hand side of this photo. To the left is the bedroom. If you headed down the hall to your right, you’d reach the kitchen.
